On your marks, get set, go! This year, seven of the around 600 starters in the Giessen Town Run proudly wore a Johannes Hübner Giessen running shirt. Together, our seven representatives successfully completed the five-kilometer course for company teams, having plenty of fun, achieving personal bests, and raising donations for a good cause along the way.
A charity run for disabled and non-disabled athletes
In 2022, the “RUN’n’ROLL for Help” took place in the German town of Giessen for the 24th time. The charity run is a well-established event on the schedule of the Giessen Town Festival and raises donations for two non-profit associations: Lebenshilfe Giessen, which supports more than 2,000 individuals with disabilities and mental illnesses, and Aidshilfe Giessen, which is committed to helping people with HIV and Aids. The run is open to individual runners and teams of colleagues, club members or friends. A total of 25 euros per starter is donated to the two charities.
An excellent atmosphere and perfect running weather
The starters from Hübner Giessen enjoyed the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the Town Run, where many participants encounter familiar faces year after year. Crowds of visitors to the Town Festival also attended the event and loudly cheered on the runners along the course and at the start/finish line. The weather conditions were perfect for a run, with bright sunshine accompanied by a gentle breeze. Runners who needed to cool down during the race made the most of the water sprays provided by Giessen Voluntary Fire Brigade.
Impressive times and solid rankings
This year’s “RUN’n’ROLL for Help” was also a complete success on a sporting level for the seven Hübner Giessen starters, all of whom achieved or even surpassed their goals for the run. Two of our runners finished in sixth place and one came in at eighth place in their respective age groups. In the company team competition, Team Hübner 1 achieved an impressive eleventh place among the 66 company teams participating in the race. With results like this, it’s clear that Johannes Hübner Giessen will be back for more at next year’s run!
